6K+some HP theorizing
Journal Entry: Wed Oct 4, 2006, 1:31 PM
ANYways, 6K is still on the way! See below for more detail.
So I figure I need to just outlet some nerdy HP theorizing...plus I need a break from writing about the biblical echoes in Beowulf. Who's gonna get the shaft in HP7....the greatest debate of all time (well, second to the 'is HP evil' debate).
This is just theory, so no spoiler warnings. I know nothing. But I do think Hagrid is going to take a bullet. I wish I could give you the link, but if you look up some of the alchemical theory that's been used to explain some plot, you have to admit that it's fishy that so far, major deaths have been following the alchemical cycle of rebirth (or whatever) which has three stages symbolized by Black, White, and Red. So far we've lost Sirius Black and then Albus Dumbledore. Now it's obvious that Black means Black, and most people know that Albus means White, so who's Red? Going on name implications, it's Rubeus Hagrid. Plus let's look at his role. He's been a kind of leader/protector figure, like both Sirius and Dumbledore were. Also, he's half giant, and we know how Voldemort feels about half-breeds. His odds of death are pretty high, you have to admit...lovability aside.
Other than that, I think Voldemort will bite the dust, but not Harry. Honestly, JK Rowling's not going to end a seven book series with the main villian winning, PUH-LEASE...and while I admit it's possible that Harry could die as well in a whole self-sacrificial blaze of glory, listen to the prophecy!! It's clear that only one of the two can survive, and it's not going to be Voldemort. Also, JKR has made too many references to the possibility of Harry's death. I watched an event on TV where JKR answered questions from students, and when a girl asked what'll happen to Harry after the series, JKR answered "well I never said I wouldn't kill him off..." and you should've SEEN this girl's face!!! But that aside, this isn't the only time when JKR has mentioned that Harry might die. I think she's done it too often now for it to be possible. When major things, like deaths happen in HP, more often than not, we have no clue they're going to happen. And with the idea of Harry's death so firmly entrenched in our minds, I doubt it's actual occurance extremely.
Anyone else? I think Voldemort is too obvious to be one of the two major deaths JKR has said will occur. So Hagrid and....who? I think we'll lose more Order members...namely, Moody. He deserves a death in battle I think. He's been through too much. But is he really major? Not really. I think the next most likely candidate for execution is Snape. Let's face it, double agents don't have very long lifespans. As one article put it "they tend to get shot at from both sides." With Snape's recent activities, I find myself of the opinion that he really belongs to neither side. I don't think he's loyal to anyone but himself, and has been playing both sides for personal reasons. With his murder of Dumbledore, he's wanted by the Ministry of Magic, as well as having a personal vendetta with Harry, and having betrayed the Order of the Phoenix. He's a wanted man. And if I'm correct and he's not loyal to Voldemort either, that means he'll likely get found out and executed quickly. True he's terribly cunning, but the odds are stacked against him. He's the walking dead.
So there you have it. My humble opinion. Cheers y'all.

Hi loyal ones. I cannot believe how many faves this account still gets. Anyways, I've decided to make a comeback. Sort of.
I see I'm nearing 6000 pageviews. If you're the 6K..th....get a screenshot, lemme know, then you'll get a request. Anything you want. Unless you ask me for something disgusting...in which case I'll just make fun of you instead. Seriously.
